If you have invested in a new server and/or computer that operates in a Windows environment, you may have noticed that Windows has begun using 64-bit operating systems, rather than the previous 32-bit systems.
While this change does speed up the processing power of your machines, it has also made us take another look at the compatibility of our own systems here at Travis with the 64-bit systems. After analyzing our system compatibility, we found the only issue that arose involved the Advantage Database Server, ADS, files.

State of New York Amends Insurance Law (A. 9038)

The State of New York recently passed an amendment to the Insurance Law that requires insurers to offer both individual and group policy holders the option to cover dependent children through the age of 29. To qualify as “dependent child” status under the new law, a child must be under age 30, unmarried, and live, work, or reside in New York State or the service area of the insurer.

This edition of “Spotlight on Travis” is featuring Alan Williams, Founder and CEO of Travis Software. Alan decided to start Travis shortly after the original COBRA law was passed in 1986. He had just sold a software company earlier in the year and, thanks to the advice of his father whom was a retired benefit consultant, he discovered that not only was employee benefits an under-automated area, but this new law called COBRA was going to be an administrative nightmare!
