This weekend we will be releasing an update to both TravisCobra and WebCOBRA as part of our continuing effort for ARRA administration. The administration tools we are providing are inspired by our users, our own ideas, and guidance from government administration agencies like the DOL and IRS.

TravisCobra and WebCOBRA have been enhanced with the following two major features:

1. Include DOL Model Notice Forms
2. ARRA Denial Letter

Now COBRA Administrators have re-notified QBs of their right to re-enroll in COBRA effective 3/1/2009, the attention turns to enrolled QBs. We’ll divide those into two groups, and discuss how we recommend you notify them of ARRA, as well as give alternatives that you can choose from.

On March 19, 2009, the DOL issued model notices for COBRA as required by the 2009 Stimulus package (ARRA). Both TravisCobra and WebCOBRA have been producing letters as detailed by the final bill’s language. The DOL Model Notices are a formalization of our community of users’ beliefs as to how WebCOBRA and TravisCobra should function.

Here are the two changes we will be making to TravisCobra and WebCOBRA within the next week:

The Department of Labor has released model COBRA notices designed to help COBRA Administrators comply with ARRA, the 2009 stimulus.

As you are aware, new regulations and features relating to ARRA are coming out on a daily basis, and we are continually updating our WebCOBRA and TravisCobra systems to reflect these revisions.

We have published a document that allows you to see what the new ARRA letters look like and describes some of the new ARRA processes that are included in TravisCobra version 8.3.

WebCOBRA has been updated and is now ready to process the new COBRA administrative requirements of the 2009 ARRA (stimulus bill).

The majority of our customers have now upgraded to version 8.3 of TravisCobra. WebCOBRA will be upgraded this weekend!

Over the last two weeks, some views have changed and we’ve added some features—here’s what’s coming in the next week.

Below are the changes to the TravisCobra Downloader and the WebCOBRA System Integrator; you can use both the CSV format and the XML format in WebCOBRA.
