This edition of “Spotlight on Travis” is featuring Alan Williams, Founder and CEO of Travis Software. Alan decided to start Travis shortly after the original COBRA law was passed in 1986. He had just sold a software company earlier in the year and, thanks to the advice of his father whom was a retired benefit consultant, he discovered that not only was employee benefits an under-automated area, but this new law called COBRA was going to be an administrative nightmare!
Alan’s background in business began at the University of Houston, where he earned both his BBA and his MBA. From there, he worked in both sales and marketing for various computer companies and then decided to begin his entrepreneurial career in software.
Alan has been the backbone of Travis for the past 23 years, leading the charge and making Travis Software one of the most innovative and in-demand COBRA Administration software companies on the market today.
When Alan was asked what he liked about owning Travis Software for all these years he commented, “My favorite thing about owning Travis has been the thrill of starting a company “from scratch” and, with the help of our customers and employees, continuing to make it an ongoing success for the past 23 years!”
