Address Block Options Available Now in WebCOBRA.com

WebCOBRA has always allowed users to send one COBRA notification letter set to each qualified dependent; now you can easily send a packet to the entire QB Group (family) without modifying the letters!

COBRA and Postal Law generally state that when a dependent is named as an addressee of the letter, they each have equal rights to open the letter. If you choose to send one letter-set per QB Group, you can now easily send to “Mr. and Mrs. John Doe and Dependent(s)”. Or, depending on the setup for that QB, it could read “Mr. John Doe”. The salutation and print-dependent option are new in WebCOBRA.

Selecting “Mr. and Mrs.” in WebCOBRA.com

There are a couple different ways you can select this new salutation in the WebCOBRA.com system.

1. From the QB Add Wizard:

When you are entering the QB Info in the QB Add Wizard, you can now select the title Mr. and Mrs. from the drop-down menu. In addition to this, you can also choose to print, “and Dependent” after the last name on all letters by selecting the Yes or No option.

When both the title Mr. and Mrs. and the option to “Print ‘and Dependent’ after last name in letters?” are selected, your salutation on letters will look like this:

2. From the QB Edit Screen:

If you select the Information tab on the QB Edit screen, you will be able to choose Mr. and Mrs. from the Title drop-down box.

As long as you are using either of the data elements “QB Full Name w/ Title” or “QB Full Name w/ Middle Init and Title”, you won’t have to modify your letters. If you have modified your IWP templates to use the “First Name” and “Last Name” data elements, you will want to add the new data element “print Dependent(s)” to your address block.
